
From offer to extension: building real skills in web development, interface design, and quality assurance at a global law firm.

Joined the UI/UX team in June 2025. Extended through end of year because the work directly builds skills I use every day.
First two days on-site in NYC. Met the team, learned the systems, understood the security requirements. Willkie operates globally. You feel that scale in the pace and precision inside the office. I built habits around documenting decisions and confirming permissions that carried into everything I shipped.
Public-facing attorney profiles and headshots. Small details aren't small on a global website. I learned the content systems, review paths, and cadence of requests. Focused on accuracy, consistency, and clean presentation.
Built and configured internal mobile and web apps using an enterprise low-code platform. Treated these builds like production work. Followed design language, kept components consistent, documented configuration for smooth handoffs.
Introduced to QA process. Verified behavior, checked layout, recorded steps so feedback was specific and useful. This sharpened my own development workflow. Writing down what a change should do before testing makes work faster to review and easier to trust.
Building HTML, CSS, and JavaScript pages for a larger Angular project that attorneys will use across the firm. Day to day: coding, checking against the design system, writing review notes, tightening details. Also kicked off a Figma project from blank page to leadership presentation.
Extended because the work is building real skills. Next goal: own a feature from design to production-level quality.
